How do you ship base sets?
I've been collecting for a few years now, and over that time have accumulated a LOT of base cards. I've got double and triples of some sets because I've got friends who don't bother with the base at all
Anyway, my question I guess is how do you guys ship base sets, if at all? To me the safest way would seem to be to ship the set in a 100-200 count plastic holder. Only problem with that is, is the price of the holder, plus the increased shipping. In Canada it would start at at least $11-$13 just for the shipping.
Another option I was thinking about if shipping wasn't feasible, would be to donate some of the sets to a Salvation Army or somewhere along those lines, and help out some kids who can't afford to collect.
Do any of you guys have any experience in shipping sets, or just large amounts of cards, and what the best practice would be in doing so?
Thanks!

I have shippd base set in the card board card boxes they come in diff sizes and i will back fill the box so the card are tight i there to keep them from moving a piece of form works the best light weight to, then i wrap in brown paper, if you a use a paper bag you get the the store cut and turn inside out, saves cost of buying brown paper, not sure about shipping within Canada, if you have a UPS try them sometimes it is cheaper. Just got to see the diff in shipping cost, flatt rate boxes are good. but like i said not to sure what kind of servics you got.

Typical 'card' boxes work, or those plastic holders you're talking about work too.
There's no way around the shipping charges though. In Canada, you'll be sending it as a parcel - and it's going to cost between $10 and $15, depending on what exactly you're sending.
It's why they are very hard to move. I think extra sets of UD Series 1 & 2 (stuff I've had) would be really easy to move for $10 each.... but when it costs $12 to ship it, not so much.
Only way to make shipping that much base feasible is to be selling to someone who realy wants it, and not just looking for a good deal. If you've got Upper Deck base sets that are 01-02 or older (as an example) I would be very interested, and am more than willing to pay the shipping costs. (Normally offer $10 per Series 1 or 2, plus shipping costs)
