    Lightbulb The Controversy: Mike Williams

Alright, if you got the new Beckett Football Magazine, you will see the big article on whether Mike Williams RC's will be the ones issued in 2004, or the 2005 ones coming out now. I would like to hear what you guys think.. Which cards should be his RC's?

The fact that he wasn't eligible for the NFL 2004 season should make his 2004 cards XRC. His first eligible season is in 2005 so I believe this years cards should be considered as rookie cards.

I don't know but it does suck. Alot like Bowman coming out with RC's 4 years before they make it to the bigs. I went crazy for Ryan Anderson RC's....look where that got me.

I hope they classify 05 as his rookie card year.

I hope that his 2005 cards are. I have a Press Pass SE card auto of him. It is numbered 12/25. Most likely his 2004 cards will be his RC's. The article in this months Beckett has some pretty good points.

Actual rookie cards should be the first year he had a card, just like baseball cards when Big Mac and Bonds came out they had the 85 & 86 topp's rookies but there rookie year in 87' was the rookie year cards but they don't hold the value the earlier product did.I don't see how you can have cards the year before and the next years products come out and be considered rookies, there is already cards released on a player and the second years product of that player probably won't hold the value as the first year, his 04' cards way out sell 05's already.

I voted both, but they should add an "XRC" to the 2004 issues like they did in some of the past baseball RC's. I really don't care one way or the other, i will never own one, but that just seems to make the most sense to me :)

    Peace~

IMO Whatever year the first card is from, as long as it was produced by a major card maker, should be his RC. I would never consider anything a Bonds RC besides his 86 Traded & Update cards for example.

Baseball has it's own types of RC's with the minors... it's nothing like football.

and can someone tell me what the first word in 'rookie card' is?
