Who uses paypal? some questions
If you put a credit card on file with Paypal does that change anything about your account?
I buy and sell stuff and always send payments paypal gift. But I'm wondering how does that work if you have $ in your account and buy something from an online store by paypal? Will they remove fees or anything? Because there probably is no way to choose to send it as a gift. Only put a credit card on file because the stores say to pay by paypal you have to have a credit card on file.
Hopefully that made sense. Just sick of people sending stuff regular paypal and I lose out on fees. And I don't want to use it to buy from online stores and they take out fees without me being able to do anything.
I'm in no way out to make a living off this so anything that is removed really stinks.

You can still pay by PayPal gift. I have my bank account and credit card hooked up with PayPal and it is pretty helpful. Deposit/withdraw money from my account, no limits, etc. Not hooking up your credit card is a mistake in my opinion.

I believe the answer to your question is, if you buy something from eBay or a PayPal store it only sends the amount to the seller, they will lose fees but you do not. You do not have the option of changing your payment to gift when paying that way but you wouldn't want to anyway b/c there is no recourse for you if they never send anything. I very rarely use gift payment unless I really trust the person or its a low end purchase.
