    Partial AL managers list

Here is a list of AL teams coaches who have cards that I noticed. I am starting to look for what I am sending to ST and thinking that retired coaches may be my thing this season. At least 50 of my ST requests will be to coaches as there are a number of them that I do not have in my collection. Who does not have a large number of 1990's cards laying around doing nothing? I am sure that I missed a number of guys, but this is a great start. You might be shocked at the number of GREAT players who are in broadcasting as well. It might be worth a shot as well. I just looked at Baltimore and they have players like Palmer, Anderson and Murray! There are more than players at ST and it might open up your collection, if you look at the others there as well!

I just cracked an 1990 Topps set and pulled 75 cards from that list! Thinking that 50 envelopes was an understatement! Wish me luck on my first ST project! Some of these guys will be easy, but others will be a risk and a huge thrill to get! Some of the cards were multiples of same player like regular and all star. It should easily be 60 envelopes and I am hoping for 30 back! Postage .88 round trip x 60 would be 52.80. The sticker on the set I opened said I spent 2.99 on it. With envelopes and paper I would say $60 wrapped up in my first ST project. That is a real cheap box of cards in todays market, so it should well be worth it!

Add to the Tigers list Gene Lamont. He has a Tigers RC in '71 and a few other cards. Jeff Jones, the Tigers pitching coach, also has cards from the early 80s and needs to be added as well.

    no problem

I was doing this for myself and it is a little rough. I just thought I would share. I did a fair number of coaches last year and remember some nice returns. Don Baylor, Juan Samuel, Tony LaRussa, Allan Trammell and Matt Williams all come to mind quickly as signers from last spring. Best of luck with your mailings. I will probly get these guys around early. Might even work on them next week.

My list of successes would include Showalter, Belcher, Rivera, Williams, Grace, Baker, Will Clark, La Russa and Boone. I got a RTS from Trammell (I think he wanted $$) and I got no return (yet) from Guillen, Soto and Mookie Wilson. There are some that I will definitely send to this year, Biggio, Mattingly and Gibson come to mind.

    Good Luck to you!

Prime ST mailing time! I thought I would bump this to first page! I sent to 6-7 of these guys last night and thinking of doing more! I like the idea of getting guys that I rmember watching vs a bunch of prospects. I am sure that the return rate will be lower, but hey I am sending mostly commons anyways!
