    1,000th Post!

It's my 1,000th post. Here is a little background on myself and my collecting hsitory!

    Started Collecting: 1990
First Card: 1990 Kraft Singles Montreal Canadiens
    First Pack: 90-91 Pro Set
    First Box: 91-92 Parkhurst
Favourite Pack Pull: 95-96 Pinnacle Mask Andy Moog in 1996 from a $1.00 Pinnacle Pack at a small card show I came across while on vacation. A close second is a 96-97 Donruss Press Proof Gold Patrick Roy 1 of 500. Booked for $150 when I pulled it.
    Favourite Year: 1995-96
    Favourite Set: 1990-91 Topps
Favourite Memory: Pulling the 95-96 Pinnacle Andy Moog Mask while on vacation. I was camping and we went into town for some supplies. I found a small card show in a mall, purchased the pack and opened it in the tent. I couldn't believe my eyes when I flipped through the pack to find the Mask card. My friends and I dreamed of pulling one and it drove me nuts I couldn't go and show them for over a week!
Worst Memory: Having my first stack of hockey cards stolen at recess (mainly 88-89 OPC and 90-91 Pro Set). A friend of mine was showing me how to use card pocket pages, so I set down my cards on a window ledge. When I looked back a few minutes later they were gone. Luckily a few friends on the bus ride home gave me some of their 90-91 Pro Set doubles. A close second is trading my 91-92 Pro Set Patrick Roy MASK card for about 40 base goalie cards. What was I thinking!
What I collected 15 years Ago: Terry Sawchuk, Stephane Fiset, Jim Carey, Blaine Lacher, Felix Potvin, Dave Andreychuk, Luc Robitaille, Cam Neely, goalie inserts, LA Kings, Leafs players.
What I collected 10 Years Ago: Curtis Joseph, Terry Sawchuk, Stephane Fiset, Jamie Storr, Dave Andreychuk.
What I collected 5 years ago: Was mainly out of the hobby. I busted one box of 05-06 Fleer Ultra.
Why I started collecting: through the influence of my mom and best friend at school (still one of my best friends). My Mom felt it was good to have a hobby and my best friend collected, agreed to give me his doubles and the rest is history!

I encourage anyone who likes the survey to fill it out themselves! just copy my survey and then fill in your own answers! It would be fun to hear everyone's responses!

This is a great thread for sure, Jimmy. Congratulations on 1,000 threads, I felt awesome when I reached the same milestone! Now I'm going for 2,000 posts here on SCF, hehe!

Thanks for the great stories and info. 1 Roy Mask card for 40 Pro Set goalie base cards? What were you thinking? LOL!

Nice story on how you acquired your Andy Moog Mask card. I bet those are pretty rare in Pro Set even today (but rather easy to find on eBay). Do you have the card today? Maybe you could get it graded! It probably takes you back when you look at it.

Thanks for the great thread and TTYL,

    -Ethan

They were just 40 assorted base goalie cards, as I recall mainly 93-94 score, anyways bad trade!

The Andy Moog was pulled from Pinnacle, they were seeded something crazy like 1 in 300 packs. They were a very tough pull!

Yes I still have the Moog MASK card, I'll post the scan along with the rest of the set! The Moog one is the bottom right in the first scan!
