    Cool Hi! New Collector here

    Hey everyone..
I'm new to collecting, I recently went through all my old cards and got into it. My uncle got me started because he really has gotten into this hobby , so i'm getting hooked too! I have thousands of old cards and went through and looked for the "important ones" Most of these are late 80's early 90's Dunross and Topps.
I just bought some new packs yesterday and got some rookie cards. No real notables like harper but some pretty good pickups i think.

    Some questions...
    1) How does the inventory feature work? Is it a good way to organize? Should I put ALL my cards on here?
    2) How do you guys do your trading and selling? How do you trust that someone will come through on a trade or sale?
    3) How does shipping work? I've never sold on ebay or anything so i'm new to that.. Do you ship in envelopes? That would seem simple enough as long as you get paid!

Thanks everyone for your input! I'm really looking forward to this and am becoming really addicted to this!

    Thanks!

    First: welcome

2nd: the inventory is great most of us create photobuckets with our cards. Shipping is normally done doublestamped in bubble mailers unless specified pwe. This place is send first til you hit 20 rep, protects everyone...have anymore questions ask a mod. I'm not one.

welcome to SCF Nick , you have good questions , Ill start with shipping , most will ship using padded bubbler and delivery confirmation unless otherwise arrange differently between both traders ,example PWE (plain white envolope ) or signature confirmation and insurance for the higher ended trades ,
second the inventory manager is a excellent feature here and most memebers have constructed photobuckets to veiw pictures on cards , and detailed list sometimes organised by team , or player or years and sports ,

last but not least , TRUST , which is earned by every member and reflected in ones rating and feedback of completed trades , and I believe that trust is one of the backbones of this site and what makes it the best on the internet ,

if you have any questions or need any help feel free to ask , good luck builing your collection and let the trading begin !!

    Welcome to SCF Nick.

It's really up to you whether or not you want to put all your cards into inventory. I'm trying to enter everything I can of my collection, but it's pretty slow going as I don't have a lot of time. The inventory is great though. Easy to use, you can upload images of your cards, organize them into catagories so you can just view certain parts of your collection, etc. For trading, as a new member I would recommend you start out with small trades with reputable members until you get your 20 feedback. For shipping, never send in a PWE unless it is agreed upon by both you and the other trader. I almost always use a bubble mailer and pack the cards between thicker cards or pieces of cardboard.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
