    2007 Bowman Heritage Box Break

Just recently got back into the hobby after a 5 year break... wanted to open a box and got a decent deal on a Bowman Heritage Box. Here is the outcome:

    Box Topper Cards:
Red Man Box Topper - Albert Pujols $12 (the 3rd best of the 25 possibilities... not bad)
    Arod Road to 500 #354 and #364 $3 each

    Base Cards:
    Key Cards Pulled:
    Mantle $5
    Wang $1
    Clemens $1.50
    Howard $1.50
    Reyes $1
    Sosa $1
    Fielder $1
    Hamels $1
    Utley $1
    Bonds $2
    Lincecum RC $6
    Slowey RC $1.25
    Reynolds RC $3
    Pence RC $2.50
    Igawa RC $1.25
    Braun RC $3
    Morrow RC $1
    Matsuzaka RC $4
    Chamberlain RC $8

    Key MISSES on Base:
    Pujols
    Maddux
    Griffey Jr.
    Jeter
    Suzuki
    Arod
    Gordon RC
    Hughes RC
    Okajima RC

Rainbow Foil (Key Cards Only Listed, Total of 22 pulled):
    Lincecum RC $15
    Pence RC $5
    Iwamura RC $2.50
    Hamilton RC $4
    Okajima RC $5
    Tulowitzki RC $3
    Matzuzaka RC $8

Prospects (all numbered out of 52):
48 total, 47 different (duplicate of #96, Greg Porter)
    Chris Carter $2
    Tommy Hanson $6
    Jeff Smardzija $5
    Joba Chamberlain $8
    Fernando Martinez $4

DID NOT get Guerra, Murphy, or Hynick
DID NOT get any 1/52 or 52/52

    SP's Pulled:
    Ichiro SP $8
    Gorzelanny SP $4
    Roy Halladay SP $4
    Hernandez SP $5
    Pie RC SP $4
    Gordon RC SP $8
    Perkins RC SP $4
    Montero RC SP 4
    Mantle No 1 of 5 $6

    Bowman Heritage Black:
#1/52 Bill Hall ~$8 (wish I would have had this one at the height of his value)

    Signs of Greatness:
    Johnny Whittleman Autograph $8

    Pieces of Greatness:
    Barry Zito Pants $8
    Robinson Cano Bat $10

Overall I was decently satisfied with the break - I was only expected 1 or 2 autos/GU and received 3. Plus the Bill Hall #1/52 was nice even if its not worth as much as it used to be. The two Lincecums and two Chamberlains were nice as were the two Mantles and the Ichiro/Gordon SPs. The Pujols Box Topper was a nice touch as well.

As for what I will trade, I am going to keep the base and the Prospects for sure. I'm probably going to keep the SP's. I will probably trade the Rainbow Foil cards - preferably to a set builder. I will definitely trade the autograph, game used, box topper, Arod cards, and Bill Hall #1/52.

Nice break, this is a product that is pretty underrated in my opinion, you always seem to get decent value out of a box,and having lincecum in the set as a rookie doesn't hurt.
Do something nice for someone everyday, it will pay off in the long run.

You might want to throw up that /52 on ebay. I've seen some of those cards go for crazy prices. Some set collectors go crazy for thos things. Granted, it might not sell for $.99, but I've seen the same card of similiar-caliber players for for $20+.
