Schneider Happy As Backup - For Now

"I like it in Vancouver a lot. I love the city. I love the organization, my teammates. It's a great place to play. You never say never, but at the same time, it's part of the game – players grow up and move on and try to seek other opportunities..."

Cory has matured nicely this season and at 25 years old and his potential, he's going to want a number one job soon.

What do you think Vancouver will do?

He's a class act, and deserves a starting job. I think the Canucks will get him set for a starting job, and will keep him until the end of next season. I think they will trade him. As sad as it maybe, when (if) they trade him, at least he will get his starting role, before he gets past his prime.

He'll go at some point. It sucks because Vancouver hasn't seen a long goalie with this kind of talent and potential in a long time, but reality is what it is and Luongo isn't going anywhere. Some team that feels they need a long term goalie will trade for him and as much as I'd like to see him stay a Canucks, I'd prefer he found a starting job somewhere else than sit on the bench.
This guy is going to make waves in the future. Whatever team ends up with him is going to have one of the best goalies in the league and, if NHL players are in the next Olympics, the will probably have the scariest top 2 goalies in the tournament with him and Miller.
