    Zero Problems on Kobe?

(his Finals 2010 #'s below, this is with Ray Allen, having no problem guarding him)

    Game 1. 30 Points
    Game 2. 29 Points
    Game 3. 25 Points
    Game 4. 33 Points
    Game 5. 38 Points
    Game 6. 26 Points
    Game 7. 23 Points

Kobe average 29.14 Points per Game in the Finals, Allen really shut him down.

He shot 40% from the field, hardly MVP caliber stats. Far worse than the rest of the playoffs. He shot 163 times and made only 66, those are not numbers to write home about. He also had 27 turnovers which is 4 per game compared to only 4 assist per. Actually those are PRETTY BAD NUMBERS.

I also just did the math and Kobe shot 47% in the rest of the playoffs minus the FInals. So ya Ray Ray played some GREAT defense that series.

Allen's defense has no impact on his values. Most collectors don't care about defense - they want the latest and greatest with lots of flash. Allen's lack of flash is probably the biggest reason for his lower card values - that and the fact that he's at the end of his career. When you aren't a mega-level guy on the level of Kobe with multiple rings and a huge personality, it's hard to keep up the values. Even a guy like Duncan - solid a defender and as great a future HOFer as you'll ever see - is lower across the board because he's nearing the end of his career and he, too, has a less flashy personality like Ray Allen.

Ray Allen may be undervalued but nobody gets less respect in the hobby than Tim Duncan

    Me too...haha

Unfortunately, his autos are the only thing that hold any value. The guy is a 4x Champion and 2x MVP.Yet, his RC's barely book more than Keith Van Horn. And in some cases, less than Tracy McGrady

basketball has always marketed their top one or two players in the league. Ever since Magic and Bird which saved the league.
Kobe is on the way out now.
Lebron and Wade are crying in the locker room.
NBA will be marketing D Rose and Durant for the next ten years after this one.
I predict the Thunder knock out the Lakers and the Bulls cream the Heat. Spurs/Celtics finals.

Ray Allen's defense is completely underrated. He is not a liability by any means. He is also the best 3 point shooter of all time. He's getting better with age. His cards are most definitely underrated.
