Coaches' call to throw game 'poor decision'
BY: Sarah Boesveld, National Post · Monday, Mar. 7, 2011
With two minutes left on the clock and the Westwood Warriors up 3-2, the high school hockey team's coaches made a strategic call that reverberated beyond the rink: They took out their goalie and deliberately lost the game.
The game-throwing manoeuvre last Thursday, made so the top-ranked Winnipeg team would have a better shot in the playoffs by competing against a lower calibre opponent, has sparked controversy about whether winning is worth employing some questionable ethics, especially in youth hockey.

Coach isn't a very astute man.
There a million ways to throw a Hockey game without pulling the netminder. Just have a defenseman that is known for turning over the puck, to turn over the puck, among countless other ways.
Not using the noodle on that one I'm afraid.

Not cool. It's like deliberately throwing a season to gain a high draft pick. It's also not setting a good example for those kids, either.

Devils did the same thing the year the Habs ended the season in first place. The put a backup in net so they didn't have to face the Pens in the first round. May have been the other way around too.
Goes on all the time.
Lead by example, if it's ok in the NHL is ok for minor hockey? Personaly I would never do that as wins are important to me.
