Fan interviews ondrej pavelec
Emily Simonds was selected the winner of the "Interview Your Favorite Thrasher Contest". An engineering student at Georgia Tech and a goalie herself, Emily chose to interview Ondrej Pavelec and below is her finished product.
The harsh jagged sound of the skates scraping the ice comforted my ears as the cool, clean-smelling, brisk air gently assailed my cheeks. I was huddled into my coat, my fingers near numb with cold. But it was pleasant. I’ve always felt electrified and alive when I’m in a hockey rink. Gazing around at the boards, I watched the glass sway back and forth as Dustin Byfuglien playfully crosschecked Zach Bogosian. Having shifted to the crease, my eyes couldn’t help but find my home away from home. That was probably my favorite part of the ice. I was one-hundred percent goalie, right down to thanking my posts. As many times as I have watched hockey in any form, whether it be a practice or a game, it has never lost its allure. It has never become jaded to me. My fascination and love for the game is constant and intense. Lost in my reverie, the practice drifted to an end and it was time to go and prepare for the interview.
