Casey, a 3x MLB All-Star (1999, 2001, 2004) has long been known as not only a great player but also a good teammate and generous humanitarian, contributing to many charitable organizations. In 2007 a Sports Illustrated player poll, announced Casey as the friendliest player in the game.

Sean Casey retired at the conclusion of the 2008 season and is currently a color analyst for the Cincinnati Reds and Major League Baseball.
