I need some input. Mods especially

How long do you give someone to make good on a trade to leave negative feedback if you don't receive? Trade was made Feb. 21st. Thanks!

I PM'd him twice. First time was on the 28th and he responded telling me he'd get the card out in a day or two, and I PM'd him again this morning.

If that's what I need to do then I'll do it. Question is, how long do I wait after I put it in dispute to leave negative feedback? I don't want this yay-hoo screwing other traders.

My opinion: First, it depends on the situation.. is it a cross-border (US-Canada) or overseas trade? Because those are typically going to take longer than a deal within your own borders. Second, what is the traders reputation here on SCF? These are the questions I look at myself when dealing with a situation like that - but generally I give it a month before I move things into dispute.

Once the trade is in dispute, again it's going to be a case-by-case basis - the Dispute Team mod will work with you and the other party to bring the deal to the best resolution they can manage. They'll keep you constantly updated on their progress as they do so - and I don't feel you should be in a rush to leave negative feedback.

Keep in mind, this is only a hobby - we all have lives going on around us which can cause even the best of traders to be slow to ship, etc.

Best of luck in getting everything resolved - I hope it works out.

    There's my two cents!

    BrokenHalo,

Georgia to Pennsylvania. 3-4 days tops. You are right, everybody has lives and this is just a hobby, but you also have to keep a line of communication open to let the other person know what's going on. This only takes a minute or two. I have no problem waiting if he had just told me he's having problems at home,etc.,etc.. I don't like the fact that I'm put in a situation where I may have to leave negative feedback for for the guy but I don't want to see anybody else get screwed. Unfortunately, and only rarely, good traders do go bad. I'm just hoping this isn't the case here and that he only has poor communication skills.
    Thanks for the input!

Just put it in there and then you will get contacted by somebody on the staff. Then tell them your story. After they contact the guy then they should give you the green light to give him a negative and then they will take the appropriate action against the guy (ban, suspension, etc.)

I don't know if it's a coincidence or what, but the trader in question just now decides to PM me apologizing. Just so happens it was after you got the ball rolling!? Checking his activity prior to today he hadn't been on since the 2nd of March.
