Patrick Roy Pro Set cc2 gold autograph pulled from pack
Hello everyone , i am fairly new to this forum ,i have been collecting hockey cards for over 20 years and have been looking for information on this card ever since i pulled it from a pack as a child one Christmas . i will post a picture as soon as i get it scanned . Like the title says pro set cc2 the mask card 91-92 pro set signed in gold pen ,not numbered. i have asked card dealers locally and nobody has any information. i am looking for any info if anyone has heard about or has a card the same, as i can not find any info at all .I do recall buying packs of pro set cards from a local card shop (all of which are pretty much worthless with the exception of this card)and there was a gold foil sticker on the front of the box with a picture of Patrick's mask stating "look for autographed Patrick Roy card . if anyone even has a picture of the foil sticker that was attached to the boxes that would help too. The only cards i can find that were autographed were not the cc2 card and they were in silver pen and numbered.

I have a feeling your card is VERY rare, I have only personally heard of auto Roy cards in Pro Set being numbered (/1000 I think) and signed on a card similiar to the base card. I haven't heard of/seen a Roy auto on a CC Mask card from a Pro Set pack. Congrats on pulling it, that is an amazing pull from a Pro Set pack!

yeah autos from that set were VERY hard to come by...you should pull a pretty penny from a Roy collector for that baby
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!

I believe this card is rare and like you mentioned auto'ed base card shows up on ebay from time to time . The great thing about the card is that as a kid Patrick was my hero and i collected his cards, saved them all out from the rest of my collection. i remember getting a collector starter kit that same Christmas i pulled the card , it was "the collector" came with pro set cards, a "the collector" binder with the cover featuring Patrick's mask as well as a booklet on his past etc. i believe the box the kit came with was also a card holder box with Roy on the top.

When the internet first arrived in 1994-95 I remember discussing this with somebody. A wholesaler told me that the Roy Mask Auto was some ratio like 1:600 Cases. probably more.
I do know that it is one of the longest odds in card history. Unfortunately 91-92 ProSet had more cards than there are humans that walk the Earth.
The Bobby Orr Auto is at least 1:600 Cases, the Roy is supposed to be even tougher than the Orr and I've seen 3 different Orr Autos from the same issue.
It's scarce. long, and tough. For damn sure.

You've got something increadibly rare. I've seen a few of the base cards autographed, but never the mask. centrehice is likely not exaggerating even a little bit.... and may actually be understating how rare they are. 1 in 600 cases? Would think they have to be at least that rare.
You've got an exceptionally nice card. The story sound like it's probably something you'll want to keep..... but if you ever do sell it, I suspect you'll get a very nice price.
