The only thing Fred's never has is hobby boxes,I went to walmart today in hazelhurst,ms. they had one of those 29.99 09/10 16 pack basketball with 18 cards per pack, didn't have that much cash on me but it worked out as I pulled a nice auto in a goudey baseball blaster,I'll probably pick it up tomorrow.
Paul34Pierce retail is always a crapshoot around here also but with there being so many stores to choose from if one doesn't have anything good I'll just drive down the road to the next one,we used to have a toys r us that had a great card section but they went out of business and the other toys r us stinks. Also I've heard of meijers wish we had some of those, but then we might not have the Fred's.
adadas we used to have a kmart but they like the toys r us went out of business, they always had a great card section in both of them, but if they didn't go out of business I never would've known Fred's sold cards,I lived in Mississippi for 5 years before I found out Fred's sold cards was never in one and had to get oil for my car, while walking down an aisle to get to the auto section I saw their card section and I've been hooked ever since, also the one hobby shop in town is so overpriced I only buy there if I win at the casino since that's found money anyways.Take care Steve

yeah theres 2 cards shops around here, the others went out of buisness, one is overpriced, but I like the owner so I go there like once a month, the other is a known pack searcher, so I just dont trust buying from him.

The Super K-Marts used to have tons of cards, multiple card displays throughout the store, but I have not seen one of those in years.

I haven't seen any decent retail stuff. The Target Stores have the 15-pack cube as well as the Guaranteed GU + 4 packs cube. I do try to find the value packs Target puts out some times. A few months ago, they had updated their value packs and amazingly had 07-08 Topps Chrome and 07-08 Trademark Moves. I bought all of those.
I haven't seen many blasters marked down except the crappy 09-10 Rookie Draft Edition and 08-09 UD MVP in nearby Wal-Marts.
Dollar Trees around here have been crappy as well and i think i have bought out a lot of Academy Sports & Outdoor's value packs (repackaged retail).
Glad you have been able to find some decent stuff.

Yep. The one that I went to was in Southern Connecticut and was similar to how you described. This was from 1998-2003. I went to the one in Medina, Ohio maybe around 2006 or 2007 and they didn't have much at all. The companies really need to get there retail game together.
