Phil is Back!!
How do you think Phil Jackson's return to the LA Lakers will Impact their play? Do you think they will start winning again. Also, do you think it was right for him to return even after he was fired?
Personally, I think it will take some time. I think they are missing key parts to the team. Hopefully, they will get a good draft player and some vital
off-season pickups. Also, I think it is right for Phil to come back because now he commands more respect and will run the show because (after I finished crying) I realized Kobe needs support and cannot do it alone. (sniffle...sniffle)
Feel free to post your opinion.
He's Baaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!

I think this is great too! Phil will make them play disciplined & make them play defense. And from his Chicago days, he showed the triangle can win without a dominant center. (Don't get me started on this topic; re: dominant center.) Phil can also attract good free agents. Let's be honest. Good free agents don't want to play with Kobe, but they would want to play for Phil.
The biggest problem the Lakers have right now is the salary cap & that $15million that Brian Grant is making. Hard to tweak the roster with no salary available.

I think Phil can help them make it to the playoffs, but they won't be contenders right off the bat; Phil said as much in the press conference.
I am actually quite surprised by the news. Knowing his hermit tendencies, I expected him to be out of the game for more than one year. I guess the passion for coaching the game was even stronger than that.

I'm so exicted. Bringing Phil back is huge. Now that Kobe doesn't feel like he has to compete with Shaq, he and Phil should do fine together.
We just need someone to play the point. Chucky has potential, and could run well. I, personally would like to see them try and go after someone like Allen, but the cap might cause a problem there.
I'm pumped!!

I'm just glad Phil finally has to a coach a team that is not championship caliber. He has always had the great duo of Jordan/Pippen or Kobe/Shaq. Let's see just how great of a coach he is without a stellar team.

It should be interesting to say the least. I haven't read it, but from what I've heard on the radio, Phil Jackson's book really ripped Kobe & put the blame on him for what went down in the past.

Phil actually was a coach of a less-than-stellar team - for about half of a season. In 1994-95, the Bulls lost Horace Grant and were barely hovering over .500 until Jordan came back and changed everything.
