Custom Matting
Does anyone know of any good webisites that make custom matting for photos? I tried goin to Michaels and AC Moore but there prices are crazy. Im looking for something as close to this as possible. It doesnt have to be anything fancy. The photo isnt that great but its an 8x10 surrounded by 10 cards thats double matted with orange and black.

I've tried my best to find a good price for custom mattes, and the cheapest I could find for a 12x18 matte with 2 openings was ~$35 at a mom and pop art store. For something like that custom done I don't think you will find it for less than $75 unless there is some company that sells it pre-cut and with that they will probably have a limited selection of colors. If you get any leads let me know because I'd be interested in new ways to display things like that.

Yeah Michaels wanted just under $60 for something similar but it was single matted. For double they said I was looking at least $90. I paid $25 for this its 16x20 and came with a different flyers photo and 10 cards. I got it at a local card show and should of bought more. Im going to see if I can track down my credit card receipt and contact the guy. If I can find his number ill let you know.

AC moore usually puts an ad out about once a month offering 50-60% off custom framing. I usually wait until then to get my mattes done.

I am definitely buying a mat cuttter. I've spent so much on mats the past couple years and I love doing little projects anyway. I always prefer to frame my own stuff, but all I have is a hand held mat cutter. I'm getting one of those big ones that are made by a company called Logan as soon as I clear it with my wife.
