IP is the best way to get superstars autos, most of the big names don't sign TTM. When you got your autograph IP you know it's a real and you have the chance to meet the players but I'd say I prefer TTM because I just can't graph IP, in switzerland there isn't great occasions to do so.

IP success we've had cant be topped, kids eyes light up when he actually gets to hand the ball/pic to the player and say hi, he has loved the AU cards Ive gotten him so Im hoping the new TTM hobby will bring the same joy

I like getting autos both ways but for different reasons. I like ttm cause I know as soon as I see the package that I got something. I feel like a kid at xmas cause you know you got a present you just have to open it and see what it is. I like IP when going to practice facilities to get autos more less for the conversation with fellow fans especially over the past few years as pretty much none of the big name guys will sign there. Ip at hotels is a blast. I only go to them a few times a year and its always with a specific player or 2 in mind, always a former flyer I somehow missed getting over the year, and if Im able to get them its a great experience. Hands down though goint to player public appearances is my favourite way of getting autos, yeah most of them are paid signings but at least you get the interaction with the player and you usually get a much better autograph than waiting after practice or a game for them.

Personally, I enjoy getting IP autos a lot more. A majority of the time, quantity AND quality is better overall than TTM...On top of that, I'm not a big fan of sitting down and writing a stack of letters to mail out. Its more fun to go to a baseball or basketball game, get autographs, and watch the game. Plus, when you get IP stuff done, there's no questioning its authenticity.

They both have their thrill. In person autographs are always fun to get. I always go with my wife and she and I make it an experience. We are trying to collect every Yankee that is alive and are doing a pretty good job. Getting a TTM auto still has its thrill, especially when you get someone you never expected. Or, when you get an extra note or picture or cards with your request. They both have huge benefits and are both fun-filled experiences. However, I don't think anything can compare to meeting someone you have admired or a young rookie who makes it big. I have gotten some good pictures with Butch Wynegar, who was one of my favorite Yankees growing up and when he overheard I was a huge fan of his he stuck his hand out and made it a memorable experience for me. Same thing with Phil Hughes when he was at AAA. He posed for pics and talked pitching. Ian Kennedy was an amazing guy as well and made some of us feel like friends. Joba Chamberlain, when he was at AAA made my wife's day when he told her to pose for a picture with him. It was just a great experience that can't really be replicated TTM. In person though can also be a negative experience. You can catch a guy on a bad day and his perceived attitude can make people hate him. My wife will remember Phil Hughes avoiding people, I will remember him posing for pictures and being fan-friendly. There is always a chance of one encounter with a player on a bad day ruining your perception of him. So in-person graphing can have as much negative as there is positive.

It depends. If you're just getting scrubs and guys you don't even recognize, then IP is no good, but if you land a star or something, it's epic.
I like TTM because you get a variety of autographs, mostly older players which you wouldn't be getting much IP anyway.
Iowa is no mans land for IP graphing, so I haven't done much of it. TTM is my vote.

Both have good points. Some collectors who are only out to sell can just make it a pain for those who are really collecting. I hate to get a junk auto on the account that there are dealers around so they just assume everything is going for sale. But I guess I'll take the auto anyways.
As far as scrubs being worthless. Not to me. I'll take a minor league hockey player who may only be on a tryout. It's an autograph to me.

IP is definitly better!at yankee stadium outside after a game ,my son has been able to land some great autos-arod,matsui,giambi,mariano,cano,wells,cone singleton,pudge,cc,and many more and each one has its own story!memories he will never forget!nick swisher being his favorite,such a down to earth guy and great to the kids!

Means something different to everyone, but I think it's a little much when people are out getting graphs on something blank and they have NO idea who any of them are until they go home and decipher it by posting a thread on here asking if anyone knows.
