    Does anyone collect sets anymore?

Just wondering. Recently I have posted a few better mid to late 1990's football and hockey sets for trade (SP authentic, SPX, Holoviews etc) and nobody has even responded expressing interest. My retail dealers is always willing to buy them for breaking purposes but I am surprised that with all of the collectors on this site there don't seem to be any interested in sets.

I think people like to make up their own sets. Thats part of the thrill of collecting. Anyone can just go buy a complete set, what fun is that ya know?

Set collecting has been declining for years. About the only sets that people still collect in baseball are Topps and Topps Heritage. None of the other sets really have any significant amount of people putting them together.

A sad fact due to the rising price of packs, poor collation and too many SPs.
