Latest Update on Crosby's Return Status
Nothing to get too excited about, but Sid is back skating without any symptoms. He still hasn't been cleared for contact but any step forward is a positive sign.
He's described as being at "stage one" of a three-step process. He can skate on his own. Two will be non-contact drills with the rest of the team. Three will be contact drills.
It'll be a while yet, of course, but if he's ready to return for the playoffs--and by ready that means 100% healthy--that would be a huge benefit to the Penguins.
All this from TSN SportsCentre.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

They need to forget about contact practice for Sid and teach him defensive discipline that his team has provided in an uncommon fashion.
Sid has to learn to tighten up defensively like his teammates have, if he wants to keep his spot in the lineup.
No phantom back-passes and no-look passes for opposition goals will be tolerated by the new look Pens.

According to the local penguin "writers" Crosby is expected to rejoin the team at practice in some capacity in the next week. I don't trust rob rossi for anything but i do believe that Crosby is targeting a return shortly before the playoffs start.
Edit: Here is the link to the Rossi article but again, hes frequently wrong about things.
