Question for Canadians: Buying boxes from the US

    Hey all,

I feel like I've been abusing this forum today... I have never ordered boxes of cards from the US before and I was wondering if there are taxes or duty to pay before the product is delivered.

    Anyone have an idea?

    Thanks!

I won a box from UD in the past year, I had to pay $15 Duty when it was delivered.

Yes, not always but most of the time. It can really add up too, the charge you taxes + duty and can hold your package up for a decent amount of time.

Kipper - That sucks, no such thing a a free lunch lol. Good to know the government can make a free prize a little painful

There is absolutely no duty on cards nor has there been for years. You pay applicable taxes based on your prvoince and depending on shipping method either an inspection fee from Canada Post ($5) or brokerage fee for FedEx/UPS/etc.

I think I understand why there are so many "live breaks" for Canadian buyers in the states; no taxes!

But I like to open my own boxes. :P

Anyone know of any good places to buy online in Canada other than QueCan?

There's a place in Ottawa that's pretty competitive - Miraj Trading I think they're called. Also, Canada Card World is an option - the fellow that runs the place is a member here at SCF.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
