    Opinion Needed: Real or Fake?

I recently purchased this card off ebay. In an arrangement made with the seller, I wil be paying for it on Sunday, partially with my free ebay bucks certificate. After I made the purchase, I started reading some of the fake patch threads and got spooked, LOL. (Incidentally, after I watch Ghost Adventures, I start to think my house is haunted.) After consulting with a friend on the board, he suggested that I post an image for public consumption. Thoughts?

(Not to bias anyone, but I believe this card to be real. Am I naive?)

It's too bad that it's come to this. Every time there is a nice patch, we get worried that it's a fake. (Not talking about you specifically...... I mean you, me, and most other people in this hobby)

Honestly - I have no idea. The seller looks legit to me, so he is likely not a patch forger himself.... but that doesn't mean he couldn't have (unknowingly) bought a fake one. He's got a lot of stuff for sale that are mediocre (at best) patches.... ones that you would never fake..... so that's a good thing too.

There doesn't seem to be the damage around the patch window, which you would typically see on a bogus card.

My bet - it's real, though it'd be much easier to look for tampering with the card in hand.

I hear ya. That's why I asked. And I appreciate your feedback.

I really, really love the hobby and I want to believe that everything is real. I am going to wait until I get the card in hand to inspect it, but, like you said, sadly, it has come to this. There are far too many people doing far too many bad things to pieces of cardboard, ink and fabric nowadays. I feel like the crying wrestling fan. "It's real to me, D**NIT!"

For the record, I think the seller is legit and I believe the card to be real.

I wouldn't worry about that one. I've seen a few of the same card with really nice patches (we opened one ourselves) so wouldn't be too concerned. It's not a CRAZY patch, you know what I mean? I think you can sleep easy knowing it's legit.

personally i wouldn't worry about it...its certainly a nice patch, but i don't think its forged...most of those are the "too good to be true"....like the eye of the buffalo in the old jerseys or something like that
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!

It looks like a legit patch. It's a great patch for sure, but it's not unbelievable. Great pickup!

Thanks! I am glad the consensus so far is that it is legit.
