Ebay Question
For those who have a store on ebay, i'm thinking about opening or selling just on ebay, roughly between 30-50 ($300-$500)items per month. Is it better to open a store or just sell w/o a store? If i was selling more items would it be better to open a store? what are the actual benefits? thanks..

Figured this would be a place to ask, but i guess not, anyways, if anyone else out there was curious, there is something called fee illustrator where you can punch in numbers and it will tell you if selling with a store or without is best.

I had a store from 2005 until last summer. It was great up until they raised the 30 day listing fee from 2¢ to 20¢. At that point things had slowed down to where I wasn't selling enough to cover the fee increase. With the $15 fee I figured that I could list 30 fixed price items and get the free auction benefit. For some reason at the time last year they wouldn't give me the free auctions when I had the store. They said I didn't qualify since I had a store. The fixed priced listings are 50¢ so if you aren't listing more than 30 and have the lowest store at $15 a month I don't see where it's beneficial. If you list a lot more than 30 items then you will be saving the 30¢ listing difference. At the height of my store I liked to keep about 100 items in stock at all times.

Yes you are right, i don't think some of specials run by ebay applies to ebay store owners,
One thing i figure out though, if you sell 70% of your 100 items and if they avg. sale price of $20, then it would be better to open a store, but other wise it's better to list w/o a store.
