USPS slow lately?
Like it's not enough with a crazy buyer, I'm having a more serious postal problem. Has there been any notice of extra slow usps lately? Stolen post or robbed posttruck or similar? Last week I sent three items, one with express, two registered, they all left Sweden 25th march. That it hasn't arrived to the recipient don't worry me, what worries me there is absolutely no track of it after it left, doesn't even show it has entered USA! And that has never happened before, it usually enters USA really quick. I'm worried cause:
1) All three items seems to have followed along leaving the country exact same time and hour, all three items is "lost" and doesn't show up. I'm thinking "someone has stolen a bag with post".
2) One of the items is a Crosby Limited manufacturers mark 1/1, I traded it at HI for around $13-1500 value, and I put that value on the customs note since the trader asked me to, but the problem is our postal service's insurance, I know this since last year. you have to prove the value, if you have no receipt at least there must be a proven paypal transaction. And since this is a trade... I have no idea how to prove it. How does usps work, does your insurance require no proof?
What ease my mind slightly is I ordered boxes from Dacard while back, they shipped some days ago but tracking shows no update. A trader sent me cards registered on Saturday and that shows no update either. So I figured maybe the whole USPS is slow now for some reason, I'll pray that's the case. Experiences from others right now??

If you are using the usps website they are always slow updating tracking packages. If not then its probably no need to worry I have been waiting a couple weeks on a package coming from the us that was sent expedited. I think the whole postal system is in like snail mode or something right now because I have been receiving packages 2 weeks later then what I would normally receive them by its brutal.

Yes usps. That, is sweet news to my ears! It's no surprise stuff can lay a long time, but it's never happened before there's no record of it entering USA, at least they always track that., but if they're extra slow now that may explain it.

USPS has been a day slow, nothing more. Postal Service involving Canada Post, is another matter.
Everything that was 8 days to BC has seen the most dramatic time change. Oregon to BC shipping is now 16-18 days. Oregon to Alberta was 11 days even at Christmas this year, now 20 days.
You also have to add Canada Customs into the mix here. When things that come into Canada in a timely fashion, they seem to be backing up at Customs In-Bond, before being released to Canada Post. As much as I'd like to fully blame the Donkeys that run Canada Post, they aren't alone in this slowdown.Last edited by centrehice; 03-31-2011 at 12:12 PM.

Don't mention Canda, they're hopeless. But that's wellknown already. Sloooow and insane rates. So, usps has had no specific problems? Then I'm worried again!

I had 3 recent trades with Masta26 who lives in Austria. My first cards took 23 days to get from Oregon to Austria. 2nd trade took 12 days and the 3rd about the same time.
No rhyme. no reason. I also had a trade to Ontario a couple of weeks ago that only took 8 days, yet I just completed a trade to Alberta which I can almost hit with a rock and it took 22 days.
All too weird.

Yeah the deliverytime can vary a lot, for instance, something may enter usa (or canada), and then not "move" for like 1-2 weeks, but it still always shows up entering usa so thats what I don't like. I just called USPS myself, they had no reports of delays, and she said they're NOT forced to scan any items along the way until the reciever gets it (what a great service lol). Sigh. It was a strange experience btw, both the automatic system and the operator understood every word, letter and number I said, while if I call swedish post in my own language I have to repeat myself three times or more. Maybe I should move to usa lol.
Ps. I would normally not be this hysterical btw, it's just that $1500 card where I know in reality the insurance won't work at all, it's just mirrors and smoke so to speak. And it's NERVOUS!Last edited by razzamaztaz; 03-31-2011 at 01:13 PM.

$1,500.00 Card ?
Yikes.......
If you were to have been here in the US and gone thru such strict guidelines and Registering, they treat your package no different than it it's for the President of the United States, Signature, Photo ID corresponding with your delivered address etc.
USPS is ran pretty tight, and of course because you live in Sweden, you don't have the luxury of taking advantage of Southwest Airlines $99.00 special and flying to the destination and having the card hand delivered. Lol.
I hope everything works out !!
