Albany, NY - Ryan Ginand’s goal and two assists helped the Albany Devils (31-37-1-4) defeat their archrival Adirondack Phantoms (26-37-4-6) by the score of 6-2. D-man Joe Sova also netted a key goal for the baby Devils, between these two they have a combined 6 games in the AHL.

They were not the only story as Albany featured three other scorers and a couple of fighters to help command them to a fairly easy win. At no point in the game did they seem in danger of giving up their lead.

The A-Devs were quick to grab the first 3 goals of the contest, all within the first five minutes. Newly called up forward, Ginand, notched his second of the year in just two games on a redirection (29 goals and 46 assists in 68 games in Trenton). Then a few moments later at 3:55 Ginand fed a pass into the crease that Brad Mills chipped in to put their team up 2-0. After a time out taken by Adirondack, Albany made the score 3-0 as Adam Henrique scored his team leading 24th of the season at the 4:54 mark beating Johan Backlund on a one-timing pass from Alexander Vasyunov. This one came on the power play.
