How can this be possible? (mis-matched patch from Absolute)
When jersey/patch cards don't clearly say that they are from the actual player on the card, the little side worry every collector has is 'how can I be sure this is actually game worn by THIS player?'.
Every once in a while, I come across a card where there is an indicator that the match of memro to player is wrong.
For example my bro has a Jorge Garbohosa RC patch card from 06-07, the year the Raptors changed their jerseys so as to exclude the original purple elements all-together, Garbo never wore a jersey with purple on it, and yet the patch card is of the old Raptors jerseys including purple.
Here's one I just came across. The Warriors just changed their jerseys big time this year, so patch cards of Warrior players may have their old jerseys in them if it is a player who was a Warrior last year and the jersey is not from this year (i.e. Curry). Any rookie however, such as Udoh here, never wore an old Warrior jersey (new jerseys were at the rookie photo-shoot), yet here is a jumbo patch where the patch is obviously from a previous year Warriors jersey.
Am I wrong here?

That's why the clause "event worn" screwed up the hobby. All it takes is for the rookie to throw on a jersey and take it off real quick at a rookie photoshoot event or something and next thing you know they're cutting them up and packing them at 40 bucks a pop.

Only thing I can think of is that he wore that jersey before the Warriors changed their jersey. Probally just a screw up.

I was wondering the same thing about some gordon hayward gu cards, with the light blue swatches. I wonder if its a situation where it is from a game used jersey, just not of that player, can they do that?

yup, another reason why game used cards need to either leave the hobby, or become a rare insert again, out with the old in w/the new, or out with the overdone, bring back the good old.

Panini has made numerous mistakes with their cards, some of the worst I have ever seen, not just swatches of memorabilia, wrong photos, wrong rookie years, etc.

Or just don't put the word "game used" or "event used". It is getting to the point that people only want patch color. I personally don't really care if the jersey is game used or not. But for card company, game used jersey can be very expensive to purchase.
