Why and how can you guarantee that he won't get a regular HHH printing plate? There is obviously a printing plate that was "supposed" to be auto'd but since it's not why wouldn't they just sent the unauto'd plate? I understand the whole not signing thing, but the pp should still be there? please explain...

What happened to the base auto cards that were supposed to be signed? Nobody got those
They probably never made the cards including the printing plates until they knew they were going to get the autos

Your logic would seem correct but sadly im 99.9% sure that you will end up getting a john cena auto and maybe another auto. Sadly thats how topps run their business and until we stop buying their products they will keep doing it.

Dont they manufacture the base cards from the printing plates? If there is a HHH base card (#43) , I would think there would be a HHH base printing plate of card #43. no?

Not giving up hope here, on the auto maybe yes, but if he pulled a 1/1 he should still receive a 1/1 in return!?! The debate continues until he hears some sort of news.

The base card printing plate would have been put in the product. This is the printing plate used for the auto cards. So there is actually 8 triple h printing plates in the product. The 4 colors for the base card #43 (cyan,red,yellow, and black) and the 4 colors for the auto card.

So your friend has the redemption for a similar card than the second one. Those werent made so more than likely it will be a John Cena auto like everyone else has got. It sucks but thats the way topps has figured out to do buisness

Topps screwed up with Triple H not signing. Everyone who purchased the Redemption card right when the set cam out payid over $100.00 and the Cena Autograph replacement doesn't even touch that price.

Topps doesn't control the secondary market and couldn't care less if you paid $10 or $1,000 for the card. They don't see any of that cash so they're not going to listen to people complaining about that.
