Hello from NY

Hello all...

Just found this forum yesterday! I was once an avid collector, but have not been in the hobby for the last 20 years, much due in part to dedicating my time to college, graduate school, and other interests.

Over the last year, I've started to become interested in collecting again, and have started to become more interested in professional sports (always been a die-hard college basketball fan).

Needless to say, I am looking to get back into the hobby, but I am not sure where to start. I've decided to pick up a few graded vintage cards (debating between 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig, 1939 Play Ball Ted Williams, or a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson to go along with a 1955 Sandy Koufax and a few others).

I'd like to pick up a sealed hobby box from 2011, though I'm not sure which would be the best bang for my buck. I've consider a Topps Tribute box, as well as Upper Deck SP. The cut signature cards intrigue me, though I am not sure what else to look for.

Anyhow, any help would be great, and I look forward to participating in the forum community..
