Isit Worth Paying Subscription to Beckett.com ?

isit worth paying the $6.99 a month to get prices for all your cards ? are they accurate ? or should i just check ebay for prices ? any help would be useful .... FYI the fact that its $6.99 a month doesnt really play a major part in wether i sign up or not ... just if the website is worth it

its free for the website, just the priceguide costs money.
Personally I think that the priceguide is way off on a lot of cards, but it is good for trading purposes, say if you need book values for a trade.

yes i just realised the site itself is free,, although i would only use it for the price guides ...

im unsure, i may just get a 1 month pass for $9 and see how it is, not really lost much even if its rubbish

thanks for the advice, much appreciated

The only way to use ebay as a price guide is to look at the completed auctions. On the left hand side under all of the search options is a check box for Completed listings. Click that and it will only show auctions which have finished. To get a average of prices I usually look at 3-4 of the latest cards to sell and average them out.

I have firmly come to believe that Becketts pricing involves a dart, a dart board, and many random dollar ammounts glued to it. Throw the dart and hit a number, thats the price for that card. They have stuff like a Olajuwon prime jersey card /25 listed as $25 bv, yet a dual G/U with Olajuwon/Robinson is listed at $40 bv. Id think a patch out of /25 of a HoF'er is worth more than a dual G/U not numbered, even if it is 2 of the greatest Centers of all time. Plus the $40 card sells on eBay regularly for $5 with shipping. Some people on here do trade by bv though, so its always nice to see where your cards stack up against theirs for a trade, but if you want to know what to expect for your cards, eBay is a much better place to price.

Prices are so far off on items it it a good guild for referance but with what they want if you want a referance just get the paper copy at newstands (walmart has them) then you have it all the time.
