well since the river has continued to rise, mother nature thought it would be good for us to get some freezing rain and huge snow storm at the end of April. If I was to guess I would say the snow is about 6" deep right now. Here's an updated picture of the flooding:

Looks fun doesn't it? The flood over water has now hit probably in the range of 8 feet deep or so

It's a warming hut at the skating oval in Brandon, MB. Of course the oval is only open in winter, but there's nothing there right now. You guys only got rain? Snow must be on its way today for you

This is what our san™™™™s is holding back from the river right now. Under all that water is farming land, a road, and a campground. You can see more ariel pictures here : http://ebrandon.ca/photo.aspx?picture_id=20108 (just scroll down)
And we got this news yesterday:

Man that sucks.
I left a town that likes to flood (Grand Forks, BC) for a town that likes to burn (Kelowna, BC)
Stay safe.

I could not imagine having to through anything like that. Glad to hear that your place is on higher ground Tyson. Has this type of thing happened to Brandon in the past, or at least at this capacity?

We flood usually every year, but nothing close to this. The water is the highest its ever been since they started keeping flood records in 1923. This is considered the flood of the century and believed to only happen about once every 100 years, like this flood has put about 8-10 soccer fields under min. 8-9 feet of water

Reinforcements Arriving
The city has called in the canadian army to help fight the flood. The water is rising increadibly fast (I think it's about a foot a day). It's getting back and they're starting to evacuate people out of the area. Here's a live web cam feed
http://brandon.westmancom.com/index.php?id=10027
The top camera is a intersection at 18th and Kircaldy. Behind those sand bags is suppose to be all farming field but has since turned into a lake. I know there's parts where the water has flooded when it is estimated to be 10+ feet deep.
Sorry if people don't like to read this, but just want to show people what my city is dealing with right now
