Topps UFC Title Shot set for May 11 release

    By G. Kerry Webster

In just a few short weeks, mixed martial arts sports card collectors will have another product to sink their teeth into with the release of 2011 Topps Title Shot.

Although the product was originally set to hit hobby store shelves on May 4, Topps UFC Brand Manager told Combat Cardboard the release date has been pushed back a week, and is now expected to reach the public on May 11.

"We're very excited about this new product," said Fullerton. "It has that championship feel to it, and that's what we were aiming for. It's all about titles, championships, title fights and the contenders. It's really an awesome product."

The base set will contain 150 cards of current and past mixed martial artists. Several numbered parallels of each base card will exists as well. Fullerton said Topps would continue producing its MMA parallel cards in its "8" format, representing the number of sides of UFC's famed Octagon, ie., /288, /188, /88, /8.
