I ask people to check the post stamp on the package, the stamp the post office stamp over your stamp, lol. That tells the buyer that I shipped it in timely manner and it was out of my hands after that. I tell them I can't contol the mail! They understand. Often times I have had buyer not even know the item was coming from Canada, so once I tell them they understand.

I've stopped caring altogether. Mind you, I've only been selling on Ebay for 4 years, but I'm just sick of trying to please everyone. My DSR ratings are near perfect (2 @ 5.0, 2 @ 4.9) and I have 100% feedback, but they're just numbers to me now. I recently changed all my listings to CDN$ and RAISED my shipping charges to better reflect my costs. Is it going to hurt sales? Most likely. Are my ratings going to go down? Probably. Do I give a ****? Not one bit.

Fact is Ebay is the lazy mans flea market. Very little effort has to be made to sell anything. Why people get so uppity about everything Ebay is beyond me. It's a horribly flawed system and the ONLY thing it has going for it is exposure. And really, 99% of the stuff on there doesn't need to be "exposed".

    .....................................

Well said. When I ship a card, I personally e-mail every buyer, stating what happens at Canadian Customs when a card is coming into Canada, I tell them past approximate shipping times, etc.

Sure it's a pain in the butt when you have 50 auctions to do this with at once, but it at least has not allowed my shipping DSR to fall too badly.

By the time the July 6th policy kicks in where eBay also takes another commission on shipping, I hope to have most of my sales inventory depleted to the point where eBay can go jump into a lake.

I will be done with them forever as a seller, and what a joyful day that will be. They obviously don't appreciate an 11 year seller that is honest, so they can go straight to H.E. Double Hockey Sticks.

One thing you can do is offer free shipping to get your numbers up....I know of a few sellers that have done this when they run into a stretch like you have. Just an idea.

Ebay=Garbage in my opinion, I will still buy on there as you can get really good deals on rare cards you otherwise probably couldn't obtain, but I will never sell another item on there again!

I am nearly in the same boat. 2148 100% Positive feedback, bad DSR in shipping charges (Only charge $2.49 to USA) and I am nearly booted. I charge less than it costs me to ship it and because these buyers don't like it I get screwed.
Talked to 7 different people at Ebay, got 7 different stories. Nobody knows ™™™ is going on. Ebay will lose another power seller soon, and the $1200-1500 in fees I paid monthly. Not much in the grand scheme of things, but if they keep knocking the little guys out it will add up. So if anyone from Ebay is reading this I hope you are happy! (I changed a lot of my wording so I don't get booted from this site as well!) LOL

It's very unfortunately. I recently received an ebay card from you (Frank Mahovlich Cup Chirography Auto) and everything was perfect. Exceptionally packaged, shipped immediately, even a business card to boot.

ebay has unfortunately forgotten what made it into the giant site it is. I have a feeling that it's being currently run by a bunch of clowns that have no idea about anything other than scheming new ways to increase revenues. Perhaps they fooled the brass with their University of Phoenix online MBAs... I don't know.

Just ship things out within a week and everything should be fine.

Also, what kind of cards are you selling? I sell hockey on ebay (Im in the US) and approx. 80% of my hockey sales are to Canada. I'm assuming if you have a lot of Canada to US sales you are either not selling hockey OR you are doing just a ton of volume overall.

Regardless, ebay's policy stinks and all shipping between US and Canada should be trackable for like $5; it is only 2011, lets move Canada and USPS
