I have been selling on eBay for several years now basically as a way to get rid of the dups, as well as other non-card items, books, DVD's just about anything. I sold a College Football program the other week for pretty good money and happened to have an extra one so I offered it to the back up bidder. I securely shipped the item - plastic bag, cardboard on both sides, taped etc. Guy gets the item and says that the cover wasnt attached when I know darn well that the cover was attached when I sent it. Guy was kinda rude, but I offered to refund the money anyway.

Guy sends it back and to be honest, it was not sent securely. It was half butted, IMO. I sent him a note stating that I didnt appreciate how it was returned to me and that he didnt even have the decency to put do not bend on it. I refunded the money. I also sent a cancel request since I was going to be charged the final valuation fee. The guy REFUSED the request AND left me negative feedback to boot. I am beyond upset.

I have little faith that this will be resolved in any way that will be fair and Lord knows eBay is definately not "seller friendly" anymore.

Any suggestions?

I don't understand why is ebay siding with the buyers more than sellers . We are the one that makes them the money . They make nothing off the buyers and we sellers pad there pockets . Although I have never had a problem selling on ebay with over 1000 sales I know my days are numbered before ebay trouble finds me for no reason . If ebay keeps this up they will not last much longer long . There has been way to many complaints from sellers on how they treat the people who pay there bills .Relly the only thing you can do is respond to the feedback he left for you in the respond to feedback link , Hope it works out for ya' .

I am also on ebay and have over 1000+ but am starting to see that buyers have more rights than sellers do and we get shafted time and time again. Too many complaints happening. Just makes me wonder if the guy had the guide already ( damaged ) and bought one to return as damaged. Just speculation, but it does happen. I wish there was an alternative to the bay, but not seeing anything as close. as like Intimadator2007 stated. Reply in the feedback section as accurate as you can about the transaction. Sorry for the Neg.

Sorry to hear that Carl. Some people you just can`t satisfy. The argument can go both ways sellers bring in the money but without buyers there is no money either. And there are sellers on the bay who leave a little to be desired to say the least. In over 2000 auctions I`ve bought off the bay I`ve only really had one problem with a seller, I just pick out people I like and put them in my fav sellers and try to mainly deal with them.

I agree some buyers are a pain in the butt, as are some sellers. I can`t figure out why ebay made it so sellers can`t leave negs?? Who knows how they think lol. Hope everything works out for you in the end though Carl.

Hey Carl, sorry to hear that buddy.

It's sad what some people will stoop to. Looking at the other side of the coin, I bought a Racing Collectibles guide from a seller on Amazon. They stated the book as "Used, but in new unread condition" since it was no longer encased in plastic wrap. When I received it, there were 36 pages missing from it. I contacted the seller immediately and was told that I must have done something to it because it was perfect when it was shipped. Clearly it was not, yet how could I prove other then my word? The seller told me if I returned it shipping pre-paid, he would refund what I paid cost less the shipping. I refused since I did nothing wrong and asked Amazon to step in and they refunded the full amount to me. I in turn bought the exact same book from another seller and it arrived in perfect condition even though they listed it as "Used, page worn, with markings" and yet I found nothing wrong with it.

Remember, what goes around comes around, and someday, they will get their just reward for what they did.

Sadly, where I was going with this, there are scammers on both sides, not just buyers. It's hard to see what is right and wrong and decide who to side with. eBay just has gone so far to the buyers side, sellers just don't have a leg up anymore (and what... sellers can't even leave negatives anymore?).

Yeah, sellers cant leave negatives or neutral any longer. I responded to the negative and stated that the item was sent undamaged and well protected and to check all of my other feedback. But at the end of the day, you reap what you sew so one day, it will come back to bite him.
