Best Ways to Sell Lower-End Cards on eBay
Hi fellas,
I'm somewhat new to the card collecting game and VERY new to selling cards on eBay. I've got a glut of inserts right now and have been looking to unload 'em, but I'm really not into selling each card out at like 99 cent profits. I wouldn't be against doing this entirely if there were no more effective ways, but I'm thinking there may be some ways to get around this.
One option I've thought about is grouping inserts together by team and selling them in lots that way. Has anyone had any luck (or otherwise) selling this way? Obviously selling player lots could be even more effective, but I currently don't have a great deal of the same player so that's not a viable option for me.
So I guess my question would be: In your experience does it pay off to sell each card individually at an extremely cheap rate or is it better to package by team and hope to get more cards out the door in less steps?
Any other strategies related to this would be very much appreciated. Cheers.

depending on how many you have I'd lot them up either by players or sets. I sell player lots and it's usually best if you have 25-50 cards of a certain player without dups. You can sell them with dups but collectors usually look for lost that aren't going to give them a bunch of the same cards.

I have found that grouping by team can be effective depending on the team and sport. Seeing as they are inserts then it might be effective that way.

Yes, please don't sell them individually, or in lots of the same card. I can't stand to see page after page of the same insert set etc. but all the lots are multiples of the same card. Why would anyone ever need 26 of the same card? This kind of "investment lot" went out with the junk wax era. Or they have all of the ones I need, but list them seperately so it costs five times a much. I would buy a group of the same kind of insert if I need more than half of them. But unless they're really cheap and there is no additional shipping per item, they're not selling to me...
Group them by set so that set builders can complete the insert sets or by team for team collectors if you only have a couple of one kind.Last edited by LoQtus; 06-08-2011 at 12:02 PM.
