Thoughts on these 2 Gordie Howe cuts

Hey Everyone. Let me first say I think cut autos of living players is kinda a cop-out, but being a Howe collector I needed to add these two.

I'm confused on how I feel about this cut, Famous Fabrics Ink 'Hockey Edition' 1/1. I mean, I like the vintage auto, which Gordie has changed over the years and I've never seen his signature this way. My only real gripe with this card is that in the auto window there are other signatures which drop down and come up around Howe's (the cut also doesn't fit quite right on the right side, but I can look past it). Howe is still alive and ebay has tons of clean certified auto'd index cards which could have been used. On a side note, I contacted the seller looking to buy outside of ebay, I was going to offer him $300, but he chose to blow me off and only sold it for $107.

Look at the second cut which I also picked up this week, 2010 Razor Sports Icons 1/3. The signature is bold and clean and there's no mistaking who signed it. Don't get me wrong I like both, just wondering what others think about the 2 cuts.

I think that the first card you mentioned is a nice addition to a PC - it shows variation from the autograph we are all used to seeing from Mr. Hockey.

However, I don't really see the point of the second card. I guess the manufacturer really wanted Gordie in their set, and the only way of getting an autograph was with cut autographs since Gordie has an exclusive contract with Upper Deck (I think?). I guess it makes sense for a player collector, but Gordie signs hundreds of certified autographs for Upper Deck each year and I'd prefer one of those for my collection.
