PHILADELPHIA - Ian Laperriere didn't play a minute of hockey this season but his inspirational presence was almost worth a year of production to the Flyers.

Laperriere, who suffered a concussion and facial fracture in the 2010 playoffs, had his playing career all but ended.

But that didn't stop him from doing what he could to help the Flyers, from working with the young Phantoms in Glens Falls, N.Y. to community relations to TV analyst. Recently, he even got on skates to help shag pucks when Chris Pronger was in the final stages of his comeback.
