Panini's patches are weak?
I have noticed that most of Panini's patch cards are just seams, 2 color seams.
Rarely do they have a actual "patch" from a logo or number.
Anyone else think this?
You see plenty of seems like where the sweater comes together and it's 2 colors etc, but you don't see logos or like swatch/color/color like on a 3 color number patch

Maybe you get confused with the prime swatch witch can be either patch or seams, the one written patch on the card are patches like in UD

Dont forget to add that "Prime" could be just a regular old 2 color jersey, with no seam. Pathetic. But most variations have Regular, prime and patch. Such as the lancers and Lineage sets in Crown Royal.

Prime means either a 2 clrs jersey or a patch.
Patch on the other hand can only be patch like you know it from UD

I take it "Prime" means an area of the jersey not like the rest. Say a jersey seams and 2 color pieces take up 25% of the area of the jersey and the rest is one color. Panini is making swatches from that 25% "prime" because there are less than the normal 1 color jerseys. But, on some sets like Certified, prime can also be a patch. But in Crown royal there are Regular Jerseys, "Prime" Jerseys (2 or more colors and/or seams) and patches. Looks like Pinnacle converted back to "Prime" being a 2 color jersey, no patch.

For more information on what constitutes Prime fabric check here: http://paniniamerica.net/authentication.cfm
The designation is in place partly to deter patch faking. If you have a regular jersey card that for whatever reason has 4 colours and a fat seam, it's a phony a big fat phony. If you have a Prime card and are unsure of its authenticity, you can submit it to Panini and they will authenticate for you.
That's not the sole purpose of the Prime designation, as it also creates a second tier for memorabilia cards.
