Is This Acceptable for Shipping ?

i was thinking the other day when buying some more envelopes, about the possible scenario.

i saw some packs of the white envelopes, and then some of the yellow thicker regular envelopes, so incredibly cheaper. then of course beside the envelopes were the bubble stuff you can buy in rolls.

would it be acceptable to simply build your own bubble mailers, probably cutting down upwards of .50 in some cases - therefore (because i ebay as well) being able to lower your shipping costs by .50, maybe more

    thoughts?

I as a buying wouldn't mind at all. Not sure what other people would think.

Not a problem. It's a little more time consuming.

    Yeah, why not?

The reason everyone wants to see bubble mailers is becuase the traditional PWE isn't really secure enough. Too easy for cards to arrive damaged.

If you can provide shipping that's just as secure, but at a lower cost to you & the buyer (even if it is a little more time consuming) I can't see anyone complaining.

that's what i was thinking, but just the thought of using white envelopes period :)

also, by using smaller envelopes like traditional 'letter' ones, i can probably send them out (within canada) by simply stamping them myself - avoiding the post office and the ladies (they're all bad here hmmpf) - "what's in the package / so it's not just a letter / it's oversized" etc...

by doing this after a few calculations, i could probably get single cards off within canada for about a dollar-ish, and could drop my ebay shipping cost drastically (now charging 2.50 within canada)

    thanks for the comments

yeah how ever you can cut costs is a plus.

As bubble mailing costs have got a bit high with the new rates here
One card PWE to US/Canada : 44 cents typically .6 oz
One card bubble to US : 1.38 approx typically .8 oz
One card bubble to Canada 1.75 approx typically .8 oz
Trading for Steelers,Penguins,Pirates and Michigan players in Michigan uni

Thanks to the USPS Shipping only to US addresses.

Shipping done on Saturdays no matter when the trade is confirmed
