Need Some Advice on Sale
I'm currently looking to sell my 11 Marc Staal 07/08 The Cup Rookie Masterpieces 1 of 1's. I've gone through two 3 day listings on eBay where I only got 1 offer which wasn't close to what I'd like to get. I've also had a thread on here as well with no interest.
My question is should I break them up and try to sell them by grouping them together by the card they are the plate for (3/4 for Artifacts, 2/4 Mini Jersey, 2/4 OPC, 1 Black Diamond, 1 SP Game Used, 1 UD Ice and 1 Trilogy) rather than try to unload all 11 together at the same time to the same person?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

That's a tough call. You are always going to have tire kickers when you have nice items which you take offers on. If you sell it as a group I would imagine you would get a bit less for it as your market is greatly reduced. The plus side is that it all goes at once. If you have time and don't need the money I would probably fish with it some more.
Take a look at any auctions that ended which could give you a benchmark on what they are going for right now. If you wanted to test the market yourself you could always take one card out of the collection and list it by itself just to see if its worth your time/effort to break the collection up. Good luck!

I'd like to get the money ASAP lol, cause I need a new lens for my job which is over a $1000. Between unloading the rest of my collection and then these 1 of 1's I was hoping to be able to afford what I need to get.
I've looked and only 1 other Plate is on eBay, it's currently up at $120 OBO. Funny thing is it's the 4th and Final Artifacts Plate I was looking for back when I was really into collecting these. I might give it another shot, with more pictures, etc, etc and see how it goes before I make a decision on breaking it up and trying that way

I will give my honest opinion, but you won't like it.
You're asking too much for your collection. Printing plate are not highly collectible because of how many there are of each given player. While they are labelled as "1 of 1"s, they are not treated as "true" 1 of 1 cards because there are 4 different color variations. Because of that, people do not place great value on them.
You have 11 plates, and are asking for roughly $1000 for the set. That's around $90 per plate. VERY few printing plates from The Cup sell so close to that amount. The majority of them sell for as high as $75 to as low as $10 for a decent rookie. The only ones that occasionally exceed that amount are the years top rookies. No disrespect to Marc Staal, because he is a very good defenseman, but his hobby love and card value will not get you $90 per plate.

I completely understand your point. I know I'm not going to get $1000 for them, I went that high to be able to get offers around where I'd like to be, rather than listing for it what I'd like to get and then have people trying to lowball me.
So if you were in my shoes Oilfan, what kinda price would you put on it and would you keep it all together or break them up?

If I wanted the money and did not want to take the time to sell them individually I would list them and let them ride. I did that with a Shield I had and was happy with the $200.
