For a kid I think Score and Victory are perfect. Inexpensive boxes and a few subsets. I think the Victory sets might be slightly easier to complete but the Score boxes offer some hits so there is a trade off.

I just began Victory with my daughter today. We opened about half the box so far, and she is having a great time looking at the cards but also pulling the inserts and organizing them as we go. She considers each insert to be "special".

That's awesome Hwilensky. A couple years back I bought a big box of 'junk wax' for my son and we spent then next few nights we had a blast just sorting worthless cards. We didn't buy anything valuable but it was the best money I ever spent on cards and it created a collector for the next generation. Enjoy the moment!
