In an Exhibition game in Paris, Da Costa has just tied the game half way through the 3rd period. Canada 2-2 France.

Nash and Spezza are credited with the goals for Canada.

EDIT: Final score in Paris, Canada 4-2 France. Not a great start to be honest.

I never read much into early results from this tournament, because Canadian teams always take time to gel at international events. Even in both the 2002 and 2010 Olympics, we suffered early-round defeats (to Sweden and the USA) before rallying. In the 2010 Olympics, Canada didn't really put it together until the quarter-finals against Russia.

Canada also has a habit of sometimes playing down to its opponents, but I think we'll be fine by next weekend.

I guess that's true. Go Canada Go!

Erik Ersberg (GK) and Oliver Ekman-Larsson (D) are going to be on the Swedish roster aswell.

I'm excited to see Tom Wandell playing for Sweden, though he did go out with a injured shoulder after 1 period against Finland (I think) a couple of days ago. Should be fine in time for the World Cup though.

    Canada 4-2 Czech Rep.

Schenn, Burns, Clutterbuck and Spezza with Canada's goals. Havlat replied twice for the Czech's.

Interesting note; who in the name is Scalzo? Played on a line with Pietrangelo. He also assisted on Canada's 4th.

I believe hes a Canadian that plays in Europe, i think hes an alternate for now until Canada can get another defensemen to come over. Canada only had 5 d-men officially named to their roster so I think hes just filling in for now.
