    Great to see that the Hawks resign someone before July 1st. I thought he would get a little bit less, (around $2 mil a year) but still not bad. Good raise from his $800,000 he made this past year. 3 years is good also.

    Funny how a year ago they could have had Neimi for the same amount of money.

    I think Crawford was more favored in the first place. He's been in the system for years and Niemi just really came from no where. The fact they both are starters for good teams is great for both of them, but in this situation I think it was much like with Howard in Detroit, they have been trying to develop a kid they drafted and they finally reached that goal in developing him to a pro-caliber goaltender.
