    Bring on Ultimate

After a disappointing week of Contenders, Bossy an auto redemption, Niederreiter listed as a SP only to find out tons are being produced after overpaying for one on ebay, and seeing Tavares autos as stickers..... ughhh, please bring on Ultimate.

Does anyone have a checklist for Ultimate ?

True.... it will just likely be a redemption that will never be filled.

Man, everyone is so harsh and never satisfied.

Panini has been turning around most redemptions in 2-3 months of the time you enter the code.

I vividly remember a time that UD was doing it within 2 years and people were excited because it wasn't 3 or 4 YEARS.

Even now Panini is cleaning UD's clock at redemption turnaround.

So all things being relative and this being Panini's first year, I am pretty darn impressed with what they have done so far and fairly short notice of obtaining an NHL and NHLPA license.

I bet next year will see immense improvements in all areas.

Nothing personal, Barrie, but I find it a little distressing that you have remained a Panini apologist since the beginning. And yet, when you consider all of the ridiculous and completely avoidable mistakes Panini has made since jumping into the hockey fray -- most notably stuffing products full of redemptions (even moreso than UD) and providing some of the worst collation I've seen in 25 years following the hobby -- how are we expected, as paying customers, to simply give them a mulligan and *assume* everything will be better next year?

Panini has some wonderful ideas ... truly game-changing innovations. I still think the Scratching the Surface cards are the best autographed pieces of any set produced this year, by a country mile. The Rookie Silhouettes cards are absolutely phenomenal. Score was a revelation for low-end collectors who had grown tired of the same OPC/Victory/MVP mish-mash. Indeed, Panini has done some wonderful things.

That said, there is absolutely no excuse for someone to spend 100 bucks for a box of Limited and have his top two hits (or even three, in some cases) come with a scratch code. People gave UD absolute h-e-double-hockey-sticks for the EXACT SAME THING. And the collation ... my god, I've never seen anything like it. This company may be new on the hockey block, but it is no stranger to sports card distribution. How can the powers that be justify someone buying a case of cards and winding up with seven copies of the same low-numbered rookie? And this didn't just happen in Crown Royale, or Limited. It has happened in EVERY Panini product this year, including but certainly not limited to Contenders.

I would also like to point out that I'm still waiting on three redemptions from last November ... the only three cards I have redeemed with Panini. In my limited dealings with Upper Deck, I always had the card by now. Call me one of the lucky ones, but I can only base my own personal opinion on my dealings with each respective company. Panini's CS has been as difficult to wrangle as UD's on its worst day.

You know that I'll give credit where credit is due, Barrie ... but it seems like you're giving Panini extra points simply for not being Upper Deck. And while I understand that position and appreciate your candor as always, Panini has made too many fundamentally stupid mistakes this year to earn a mulligan. At least from me.

I sure hope they're better in 2011-12, because if not, their product is going to collect dust on card shelves across the continent.

for me??? as far as panini go's??? i have had it with them and there redemption's!!!! i am sick and tired of hearing excuses after excuses...redemption';s from october that still isn't filled!!!! my biggest being the certifed emerald auto 1/5 of evechkin which i bought off of ebay for a pretty penny...i have made countless calls to them only to hear the same thing over and over..we are waiting for the stickers...i actually got so tired of it i cxalled and asked for a replacement almost two months ago..they said at that time that i would get an email of my replacement soon after..guess what!!!! still haven't received one...i just gave up...i said to myself when i get it them i get them..not something a person should be saying after they just spent a few thousand dollars on there product..i think not..or for any one that spends money on there product should get the same treatment no matter if it is a few dollars or whatever...there needs to be a better way to handle things than the way they are doing..

Panini has been such a let down this year. I'm no UD lover and I was so excited to see Panini come in, but the amount of redemptions and collation issue has me not buying another box from them this yr. Dean if it makes you feel better I overpaid on Nino's auto too and I'm disappointed that Tavares isnt hard signed.

You're right, I am always backing the crew at Panini, so maybe it's better if someone else jumps in.............like a Panini employee.

Look, I will give them through early winter of 2012 to get things rectified, then I'll stop the "defense".

I feel in that time frame, about 14 months or so in the market, they'll have had adequate time to make the necessary amendments to their current liabilities.

Oh yeah, I still think you guys are going to LOVE what is still to come.
