    Exclamation collector attachment????

im looking to write an article about a collectors attachment to their cards so i have a few questions

when you pull a high dollar card do you want to keep it ( just because of it's high value) or use it for trade bait

how long have you been collecting

and do you have any other useful experiances i could use in my article

    thanks

I have been collecting for about 5 years and when I have pulled a couple of really nice cards I would sell them on ebay to buy cards of my favorite player or trade them for my favorite player...

It's a little of both for me...but it depends on the player and what I think I'd be able to get for it, etc. If it's like a sweet 37 color patch or a true 1/1 or something, I'd probably lean more towards keeping it.

if i dont like the card no matter what the value is and no matter where i got it from...ill trade it for something i do like. the only card i was ever attached to was the greg golson gold refractor auto i pulled and i even managed to trade that away so i personally dont really haev attachments...its all about getting what i like.

If I get a really high value card, that I don't really like the value of I would either sell it on e-bay or trade it for my personal collection.

If its an autograph, a rookie card of players I collect or for my sets, I keep it. If its a GU, #'d card or anything else I usually trade it, no matter what the book value is.

I'm not collecting for profit so it's very rare that I sell a card. Trading something I pull out of a pack (high value or not) for a player I collect is a common practice.

how long have you been collecting

    17 years.
