Marlins vs Rays Results 20 May 2011
My sons and I were able to get the following players before the game from the Rays: Gomes and Russell. Around the 2nd inning Juan Cruz came to the bullpen and I asked him to sign and he said "we are not allowed to sign during the game papi" so I asked if he would sign after game and he didn't answer and was the first one out of the bullpen when game ended. Then around the 5th inning, Kyle Farnsworth came out and I immediately asked him if he would sign after the game for my former Cubs collection and he had no answer. During the 9th inning he was warming up the whole inning, but when the game ended, he motioned for me to throw him the ball and I did, he signed it and I thanked him numerous times. When I got home I went thru my collection and noticed I already had Cruz's autograph, but still need Sam Fuld's. So if anyone is able to get Sam Fuld or an extra one, please let me know as we need it for our collection. I have a Hanley Ramirez CROLB ball I could trade for it.

One of the biggest rules in graphing baseball-NEVER ask a player to sign DURING the game!!!!!
PS-did Longo or Price sign?

Hey, I am 3 for 4 in asking during the game, so I won't change my rules. When you are trying to get a reliever and they don't show up before the game, you do what you gotta do. i didn't even see price at the game and Longo came out about 5 minutes before game started (Marlins don't do BP on Sundays, so I am guessing that is why Longo came out so late.)

Jeremy Hellickson signed 3 cards and baseball for me in the middle of a game (NOT spring training) while he was sitting in the bullpen. It usually isn't advised to ask a guy to sign during the game, but it happens sometimes. Asking the person during a game in the bullpen if they would be willing to sign after the game doesn't seem out of line. I am sure some guys would get upset about, but some, like Farnsworth didn't, won't mind.
