    What's Your Favorite Insert Set?

I was looking at some of the Contender breaks and the regular ol' run-of-the-mill inserts coming out of those boxes look pretty cool.

So I got to wondering: what's your favorite insert set since 2005-06 (or whenever the modern era of completely "worthless" inserts began)?

I really dig the BTP Inspired Masks from this year's product.

I've been a fan of The Mask / Masked Men every year.

    I'm a goalie fan. LOL

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Of the 'worthless' sets, I though Net Brawlers was a pretty good set. They remain highly sought after too.

Hometown Heroes was good when it was small, but now at 84 cards, its lost a bit of its lustre.

Leather Larceny is also becoming quite popular.

    Cheers,

10-11 Donruss Les Gardiens, cool use of acetate and a good selection of players.

I really like the Leather Larceny set from this year. I just started trying to put the base set together. :)

I loved the 08/09 MVP Marks of Valor set...low-end, easy pulls, and they look great signed.

Ooh yeah those are very nice. I traded my only one (an Alfredsson) long ago and regret it to this day.

But case hits weren't exactly what I was asking about. I wanted to know what cards that you would otherwise use as coffee table coaster substitutes but for the fact that they look neat.

Do you have an example of one? I went on eBay to look but there didn't seem to be much there to look at. Are they made of acetate with a huge red Maple leaf in the background?

I KNEW you were going to say something from ITG. When I look at BTP stuff my head spins. The closest analogue I can think of to American Football would be an entire set dedicated to QBs. Weird, this passion for goalies, but I'll take a look, haha!

These look great in scans, thanks for the example. I haven't seen one in person though. Is it as thick as an ICE RC or like a Frozen in Time card?

I do too...that was one of the sets I was thinking about trying out.

Yeah at first glace they look really snazzy...almost borrowed from a Marks of Distinction design from I forget what year. But the picture quality could be sharper and the also seem to use the same pictures in other inserts and base cards from the same set.
