Winnipeg (Insert Name Here)
Thought this would be a cool thread to discuss.. but since the story originally broke I have heard various reports that when the team comes to Winnipeg they cannot be called the "Jets" because the name is still partly owned with the Phoenix Coyotes.
On my way in to work I have heard two other names that they can be called
1) being the Manitoba Falcons ( i guess to go with the 1952 Winnipeg Falcons that won the Olympic Gold)
2) being the Manitoba Polar Bears ( i think this is more of a joke and i realy do hope it is because I agreed with the radio host that whomever came up with that name should be punched in the face)
Personally I think they should work out a dea with the NHL since they own Phoenix to get the name "Jets" back
thoughts ... ?

Rather than having 5 topics on the front page about the Jets, let's do it all here!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Agh!!! I'm so excited!!!!! :D I venture to say that with Winnepeg gaining an NHL team, the popularity of hockey may actually increase here in South Dakota with two NHL teams fairly close by now. I am really looking forward to going to a Winnepeg/Minnesota game; who knows, it may actually develop into a decent rivalry, too! God Bless Hockey and God Bless the NHL!
