Why wouldn't Bonds threaten Pujols for MVP? Bonds has lead his team to a huge lead in the NL West while Pujols' team is in 2nd place in one of the weakest divisions in baseball.

Bonds has more HR's, more walks, more stolen bases. He has a better OBP OPS and SLG PCT. Not to mention he has done all of that in 15 fewer games than Pujols.

Lopez is having a tremendous year, but there are others out there that are more talented and worthy of business....Personally, I would take Posada over Lopez currently, but that's over a long term body of work.....even Pudge, although he hasn't brought the house down this year.

If we're talking about strictly based on performances this year, I'd go with:

    C: Javy
    1b: Helton
2b: Not sure, but won't be Giles
    SS: Arod
    3B: Mike Lowell
    Of: Bonds
    Of: Puljos
    Of: Gary Sheffiled

    SP: Prior or Schmidt
    RP: Gagne
