" Attention: The Brewers Are In It To Win It!"
We all know about the Phillies pitching, the Yankees hitting and the newley acquired studs of Bostan. If you were a baseball fan and you were predicting who was going to win it all based on current rosters on papper, no doubt it would be one of the three teams listed. Only one problem, you have to play the games first. Who knows maybe one of the Phillies pitchers goes down with a season ending injury?, or maybe a big bat of the Bronx Bombers has a terrible season? and maybe a newley acquired stud for Bostan, like Carl Crawford has a miserable season? A team that you would not say is a contender based off paper is the Milwaukee Brewers. One of the most under rated teams in sports, Milwaukee is a very interesting pick. In my opinion they are the most improved team in Major Leauge Baseball. With acquisitions like former Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke and crafty pitcher Shawn Marcum makes the Brewers not only a NL Central Contender and what I think, a World Series contender. Last season the Milwaukee Brewers went 77-85, finishing third in the NL Central. All season they struggled and never led the divison. The biggest issue for the Brewers was their pitching. Their team ERA was 4.59. The new acquisitions of Zack Greinke and Shawn Marcum will certainly help. Now that the pitching is patched up, this team is only moving in the right direction of a World Series title.
The Brewers were always a good hitting team. In their lineup they have so many underated players. For example Casey Mcghee and Corey Hart. Now who I think is the most under rated payer in baseball is their second baseman Rickie Weeks. Rickie Weeks is so talented. He can do anything speed wise, hitting wise and deffensive wise. In my opinion he could be as good as Yankke star Robinson Cano. The Brewers also have two studs in their lineup. They are Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder. With these stars and their undiscovered talent, the Milwaukee Brewers are a slepper pick to win the entire thing. In a post season series, you have to win three games in the divisional round and four in the leauge championship game and the world series. I think with the Brewers sending out Zack Greinke in Game One, Yovani Gallardo in Game Two, Shawn Marcum in Game 3 and Randy Wolf in Game Four, it could match any teams staff even the Phillies "Fab Four".
I pick the Brewers over the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants because of the pitching staff and the deepness of their lineup. If you look at the Yankkes pitching staff, there are some holes. I mean CC Sabathia is great but, Phil Hughes is going to be out for awhile,AJ Burnett is so inconsistent, Ivan Nova hasnt stepped up and the absence of Andy Pettite seems to be hurting them. There is one thing keeping the New York Yankees alive and its the pitching efforts of the two veterans Freddy Garcia and Bartolo Colon. Garcia is pitching well but Colon has been pitching like an All Star. As a matter in fact, if Bartolo Colon keeps pitching this great, he will make the American Leauge All Star team and make a run for the CY Young. Still, there are too many "If's" for the Yankees. I dont think the San Francisco Giants are going to win the tittle because of injuries to key players such as, Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval. Also guys like AAron Rowand and Jonathan Sanchez have not been playing as well as they did last season. Their top prospect Madison Bumgardner also hasnt been playing well. They also need to make a decision with Barry Zito. He was one of the worst signings in Major Leauge Baseball history and should be released. I cant say traded because no one wants that guy around their team. Still, they still have Tim Lincecuem and Matt Cain but, that might not be enough. You cant count out the Giants and Yankees based on their recent track records. I just think the Brewers have less questions and have weaker opponents in their division.
Overall, I think the Brewers have the talent to win the World Series. I know the Brewers know that this might be the last chance for them to make a run for it because of arguibly their best player, Price Fielder is in his contract year and there is a chance will test the open market and not resign with Milwaukee. This team works hard every game and they believe with the talent they have and the new additions the front office has put on the field, they can compete with best of the best and bring home a World Series Championship trophy for the city of Milwaukee. In my opinion they are too good of a team not to compete. For all of you fans out there who are unfimiliar with the brewers, get to know them because they are in it too win it.
