Funny E-Bay Auction
Doing my daily troll of e-Bay and found this, brutal fake job, looks like my 2 year old nepehew forged the auto and hand numbering:

Not sure it would be fake, why would a guy with this rep put up a fake item to auction ?
Do you have a real auto of the rocket to compare ?

This is not the "in-pack" autographed version that was released by Topps. The auction description claims it was an in-person signing that was limited to 25 cards. The Stanley Cup Hero Autographs inserted in packs were not numbered. A look at the back of the card may help. The non-auto was SC4 while the auto version was SCA4. I would venture that, at best, this is a in-person signed copy of the non-autographed insert.

The "real" Topps pack inserted versions can bring in over $300. It has been my experience that in-person autographs do not carry the same premium as pack inserted autos, even if they do mimic them.Last edited by Drewk86a; 06-01-2011 at 04:15 PM.

It's not a Topps certified auto, that's for sure. All Topps autos have a "certified" stamp on them such as this:

I guess it could be an in-person auto, but it I'm leaning towards a fake.

Old and dead as of May 27/2000. But at the end his autograph was very bad. Got an auto jersey from him in 1999 and the auto is very shaky.

Maybe he was using his left hand...lol.
Here is the google link to his auto...not very similar. His auto is pretty distinctive.

Not sure what to say about our hobby when I read the above. The most popular Canadien of all time, our Wayne gretzky, and people don't know he's gone. sad

I was lucky enough to spend some time with him over the last few years of his life and he tried to limit himself to 30 mins for signing sessions because of the shakes he would get. I have seen him actually tear up an 8x10 pic after he wasn't satisfied with the signature during these sessions and it makes me think that this auto is a fraud.
